Fusion Gene

Fusion gene is a abarant gene is a gene formed by fusion of parts of two genes. Fusion genes result are important drivers of malignancy. Many have been used for the molecular diagnosis of cancer. Fusion genes are formed by translocations, insertion, deletions and inversions.

  1. Is the same a hybrid.gene than a fusion gene? For exemple, in RH blood system there 2 genes RhD and RhCE however some people have a hybrid RhDCDE gene.
